The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has asserted that the President, Akufo-Addo is fond of inviting trouble into the country.
On his part, several of the president’s actions are trouble-inviting.

He says that it has been the hallmark of the president to invite trouble and that the country would be in turmoil by now and if Ghanaians were not peaceful.

His comments are against the backdrop of the nomination of Jean Mensah by President Akufo-Addo to replace Charlotte Osei as new EC boss.

In an interview with Accra based Okay FM Tuesday, he said “when you are done interviewing me, open the phone lines and ask the people of Ghana that based on the Akufo-Addo’s actions, is he someone who wants to bring peace or trouble into this country”.

Referring to the president, he noted that “all his actions depict that he loves trouble…he invites trouble from anywhere, anywhere he sees that trouble could emanate from”.

“You know that elections bring a lot of issues, so if you’re able to go to different countries to settle post-election mayhem and you repeat the same mistakes that brought about anarchy and trouble in those countries, then what do you expect in your own country, isn’t it trouble? He quizzed.

He, however, said it is not constitutionally stipulated that the president in choosing a chairperson of the Electoral Commission should consult any political party but it would have been appropriate if President Akufo-Addo had consulted major stakeholders especially, political parties.
