Police chief injured after clash with Ashaiman Okada riders

Some Ashaiman Okada riders sustained various degrees of injuries after clashing with the police Tuesday.

The riders were protesting against what they described as "harassment" by  the Ashaiman police.

The angry Okada men who had besieged the Ashaiman Divisional Police Command to register their discontentment, ended up pelting the police with stones after an attempt by the men in uniform to calm them down failed.  Scores of  riders and some policemen including the Ashaiman MTTD Police Commander got injured in the incident.

The Ashaiman MTTD Police Commander, DSP Isaac Kojo Forson, narrating the incident, said the police last Thursday arrested several Okada  riders  with their motorbikes. He noted that some of them were sent to court and charged with various offenses.

The angry Okada men who were not happy with the development, stormed the Ashaiman police station Tuesday to protest, resulting in the clash.
