Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the 2024 flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has promised to build a sea defense wall for Ada and other coastal communities in the Greater Accra Region.
He also promised a mini-harbor for the people of Sege.
Dr. Bawumia made these pledges when he was responding to a request by Nene Osusey Acawerh II, Vice President of Ada Community Chiefs, at a stakeholders engagement in the Ada constituency.
Nene Osusey Acawerh II expressed gratitude to the government for the enormous developmental projects it has given them.
He appealed to Dr. Bawumia to consider getting their sea defense constructed to save them from disasters.
However, in response to the chiefs’ request at another stakeholder engagement at Sege Constituency, Dr. Bawumia promised to construct a sea defense wall for the people of Ada and a mini harbor for Sege and other coastal communities in the Greater Accra Region.
When the wall is put up, it will help to protect the communities from tidal waves, which are gradually washing away some fishing communities.
