Bernard Mornah, PNC flag bearer and civic activist, will lead a protest organized by Arise Ghana on Tuesday, 20 January 2026, at 8 a.m.

The protest, dubbed “Bring Ken Back Picketing,” will use hashtags like #KenOobake, #KenWoezor and #KenAkwaaba and is expected to take place at major junctions in Accra.

The demonstration is over the continued stay of former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta in the United States and his unresolved case with Ghana’s Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP).

Ofori-Atta has been under investigation for alleged corruption and was previously described by the OSP as a fugitive after missing questioning in 2025.

Tensions rose in early January 2026 when Ofori-Atta was detained by US immigration authorities over visa and overstay issues. The Attorney-General, Dr Dominic Ayine, later confirmed that his US visa had been revoked, stressing that investigations in Ghana are still ongoing.

The protest is to demand transparency and accountability, while respecting due process. Authorities have not yet commented on security or permits for the protest.
