Black Damsels Head to Mozambique to Defend CAF African Schools Title

Ghana’s U15 girls’ team, the Black Damsels, are gearing up to defend their title at the CAF African Schools Football Championship finals in Maputo, Mozambique, from April 2 to 10, 2026.

Renowned for their flair and fighting spirit, the defending champions enter the tournament determined to maintain their dominance on the continental stage. Since its inception, the CAF-organised competition has become a vital avenue for nurturing young talent and strengthening grassroots football across Africa.

Ghana achieved a historic milestone with the Black Damsels’ prior victory, which improved the nation’s reputation in women’s youth football and shown a strong dedication to nurturing future potential. The team was created through a partnership between the Ghana Education Service and the Ghana Football Association, and it has undergone rigorous training that combines mental toughness with technical skill.

But the champs have a difficult task ahead of them, with strong rivals from all over the continent ready to overthrow them and test the youthful team.

Driven by self-control, tenacity, and patriotism, Ghana’s Black Damsels are determined to reassert their dominance and confirm their status as the benchmark for schools’ football in Africa.
