Covid-19: Akufo-Addo to address nation tonight over possible lockdown

The President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, is set to give a situational update on the coronavirus outbreak in Ghana tonight.
This was announced by the Majority Leader in Parliament, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu on the floor of Parliament Friday morning.
“Because of the rapid unfolding events about the coronavirus, the President will be addressing the nation today,” the Majority Leader said.
Ghana has recorded 136 cases of the coronavirus with three deaths and one recovery.
Though there have been calls by groups and individuals including the Ghana Medical Association and NPP’s Nana Akomea to lock down the country, it is uncertain whether government will succumb to the pressure.
