COVID-19: Health Minister descends on Ghanaians for shunning safety protocols

The Minister of Health, Kwaku Agyeman-Manu has expressed worry over how Ghanaians have failed to adhere to precautionary measures to help fight of coronavirus (COVID-19).
Although the precautionary measures have been widely preached, he observed that people were not observing them, especially the social distancing rule, wearing of masks and washing of hands.
Speaking at a press conference he stated with passion that while a few were adhering to the measures, others were behaving as if they had not heard about the measures, urging them to put a stop to their actions or inactions.
He explained that even before the pandemic, the Health Sector was challenged with limited beds, warning that if Ghanaians do not observe the safety protocols, we will get to a point where a lot of people will be sick and they cannot be taken care of and might lose their lives.
He also called on all to be ambassadors at their various workplaces, homes and others, educate people to observe the protocols, especially advise them to wear their masks and observe social distancing.
The Minister also stated that those who flout the rules will soon be jailed for at least three months to serve as deterrent to others, calling on he public to be obedient with regards to the safety protocols.
“If you do not have anything at home stay home, there are a lot of things to keep you at home, your TV, games and phones,” he said.
