Ghanaian media personality and author Ohemaa Woyeje has expressed her thoughts on the topic of surgical procedures and who they should really be for.
Appearing on Klub 99 alongside host Babbie Dappah for an afternoon of real talk, fun games and good music, the award-winning personality weighed in on a question that hits close to home for many women: whether the fear of ageing is driving them toward decisions made under pressure rather than personal conviction.
“Any surgical procedure you undergo should be for yourself,” she stated plainly. Ohemaa Woyeje went further to stress the weight of that decision, noting that surgical procedures are serious in nature and often irreversible. It requires thorough preparation and an honest self-reflection for anyone considering going that route.
She stressed that having a surgical procedure does not guarantee that people will no longer have opinions about you.
“You can undergo procedures and still have people talk about you. You should not chase any validation.” She said pointedly.
The nature of a surgical procedure makes it highly important for someone to be very educated about what they are doing before altering their body, Ohemaa Woyeje added.
The conversation came as part of a broader discussion around her latest book: Life Beyond Opinions.
The media personality spent the afternoon on Klub 99 walking listeners through the full journey of the book, the process behind its creation and the road to its launch, to where it stands now in its post-launch season.
She also treated the audience to a live reading of her favourite passage, giving listeners a taste of what the book holds beyond the conversation.
