Veteran Ghanaian gospel musician Diana Hopeson, is set to return to the music scene with a deeply personal album titled Megyae.
The project combines prayer, worship, praise and a renewed call for Christians to live according to the Word of God.
Inspired by Psalm 119:9–16, the title track, “Megyae,” focuses on the biblical declaration, “Your word have I hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against you.”
The song addresses the daily struggle to live right amid temptation, distractions and unhealthy habits, while serving as a prayer for the strength to let go of behaviours that prevent people from fulfilling their God-given purpose.
As a certified counsellor, Diana Hopeson also uses the project to highlight some of the deeper factors behind destructive behaviours and repeated patterns, including trauma, stress, mental health challenges and environmental influences.
Musically, Megyae blends different eras of Diana Hopeson’s sound. The seven-song project includes an instrumental version of the title track, which is presented in both a vintage-inspired interpretation that reflects classic Ghanaian gospel and a contemporary version for a new generation of listeners.
The album also features worship renditions of “Agyenkwa Hene” and “Yesu Mo,” two energetic praise medleys, including one inspired by her Awutu heritage, and an English interpretation of Psalm 119:9–16 titled “Your Word In My Heart.”
According to the project’s concept, the collection takes listeners through worship, praise, heritage and personal devotion while opening a new chapter in Diana Hopeson’s contribution to Ghanaian gospel music.
Diana Hopeson is scheduled to host an online listening session on August 15, 2026, ahead of the official launch.
The Megyae album will be officially launched at an invite- and RSVP-only launch and fundraising event on August 30, 2026.
Funds raised will support a nationwide school outreach and campaign inspired by the album.
