Former Deputy Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES) and leading New Patriotic Party (NPP) member, Dr. K.B. Tandoh, has moved to unite the party in the Asunafo North Constituency by initiating a reconciliation process after the conclusion of the constituency executive elections.

As part of the peace-building effort, Dr. Tandoh on Saturday hosted the newly elected Constituency Chairman, Frank Owusu Afriyie, popularly known as “Chairman Chemicals,” and his former challenger, Francis Kwaku Agyeman-Duah, at his residence in Goaso.

The meeting was aimed at healing divisions, promoting unity and repositioning the constituency for the 2028 general elections.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Tandoh noted that while competitive internal elections are a defining feature of a vibrant democratic party, the true strength of the NPP lies in its ability to unite after contests.

He urged members to put the elections behind them and work collectively toward the party’s broader objective of returning to power in 2028.

The reconciliation process also received a major boost with the involvement of former President John Agyekum Kufuor, who joined the engagement and encouraged both leaders to rise above personal interests and factional differences in the interest of the party.

Dr. Tandoh said the former President’s wise counsel and fatherly guidance had set a positive tone for rebuilding unity within the constituency.

He commended both Frank Owusu Afriyie and Francis Kwaku Agyeman-Duah for exhibiting political maturity, mutual respect and a shared commitment to the growth of the NPP in Asunafo North.

Emphasising the need for collective effort, Dr. Tandoh declared, “The election is over; the work of building a stronger and more prosperous Asunafo North begins now,” expressing confidence that a united front would strengthen both the constituency and the NPP ahead of the 2028 polls.
