Ec to receive nominations for Yapei/Kusawgu constituency on Oct, 27&28

The Electoral Commission is set to receive nominations for the Yapei/Kusawgu Constituency on Tuesday, 27 October and Wednesday 28, October, 2020.

This is as a result of the demise of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate of the Yapei/ Kusawgu Constituency, Hon. Abu Kamara.

In a statement, the EC said in accordance with Regulations 13, Sub-regulation (4) of, the Public Elections Regulations, 2020 (C.I.127), “Where at the close of nominations, but before the election, one of the candidates dies, a further period of ten (10) days shall be allowed for nominations.”

“In this regard, the Electoral Commission is extending the nomination period for the Yapei/ Kusawgu Constituency of the Savannah Region to allow for the replacement of the Candidate,” EC added.

Meanwhile, the EC has urged any person who intends to contest for the Parliamentary Election to send his or her filled Nomination Forms to the Returning Officer of the Yapei/ Kusawgu Constituency, at the Yapei/ Kusawgu District Office of the EC on the dates stated above.

The Returning Officer, the EC said shall receive all Nominations between the hours of 7.0am and 5.00pm for the two days.
