President of Wisconsin International University College, Ghana, Prof Obeng Mireku has stated that it will take a collective effort of all stakeholders to ensure a safe cyberspace in the country.
He observed that across Ghana, we are witnessing an unprecedented adoption and use of digital products and services, adding that this digital transformation is a positive step forward for our nation, as it transitions from manual processes to digitalization.
Despite its positivity, he noticed that with this progress comes the heightened risk of cybercrime.
“As digital technologies become more sophisticated, so too do the modus operandi of smart cybercriminals. Critical Information Infrastructure systems − such as Health Information Systems, Identification Information Management Systems, and utilities are increasingly at risk. For this reason, ensuring a safe cyberspace requires a collective effort of all stakeholders,” he stated.
