GJA Awards: ASHFOAM presents prizes to awardees

ASHFOAM, the leading name in beddings and household materials in Ghana, has presented prizes to the Ghana Journalist Association’s (GJA), Journalist of the year and Female Journalist of the year respectively.

Samson Lardy Anyenini, and Atinka Media Village’s Regina Asamoah, were adjudged Journalist of the year, and female Journalist of the year respectively at the just ended 25TH GJA awards .

Prior to the 25th GJA awards, ASHFOAM presented GH¢20,000.00 to the association to ensure the successful organisation of the Awards and promised to give prizes to deserving winners after the awards.

The journalist of the year received a 7 seater couch and a ‘queen-sized’ mattress, while the female journalist received queen sized bed, towels and other consolation prizes.

In a short ceremony to present the prizers to the awardees, General Manager for ASHFOAM, George A Massih, commended the two winners for working tirelessly towards the growth of Journalism in the county.

Vice President for the GJA, Linda Asante Agyei, commended ASHFOAM for their their unflinching support, saying it would go a long way to encourage journalists to give out their best to the development of the entire country and beyond.

“Despite the impact of the COVID-19 on the little resources that you have, you have still managed to support us and we are so grateful because it tells the bond established between us,” she added.

Nana Yaw Ampem-Darko Antwi, the Marketing and Communications Manager of ASHFOAM, said his company, aside the financial support and prizes, will ensure that the office structure of the Association is painted prior to the December 7 elections.

He said the Centre will be used as the collation centre of results for media houses (both national and international) and so it needs to be given a facelift.
