GJA commiserates with Kwabena Kwakye’s family, Ken City

Albert Kwabena Dwumfour, President of the Ghana Journalist Association, and executives yesterday paid a visit to Oman FM, the workplace of the late broadcaster, Kwabena Kwakye to commiserate with both the family and the media house.

Popularly known as “Wofa KK”, the Oman FM Morning Show host, and a member of the Newspaper Review team lost his dear life after a cardiac attack.

Eulogizing the late broadcaster, Albert Asomani, Accountant at Kencity Media Limited said Wofa Kwakye had been battling ill-health but managed to contribute his quota to the progress of work.

He further disclosed that the broadcaster reported to work on that fateful Wednesday, February 14, 2024, and experienced a cardiac attack

He intimated that the broadcaster was immediately rushed to the University of Ghana Medical Centre for treatment but could not make it.

Addressing the family and the press at the Ken City in Accra, the President of GJA, Mr. Albert Dwumfour said Kwabena Kwakye’s death was a big loss to the fraternity.

He recounted that the late broadcaster performed his work with a high level of diligence which will be missed by all. He said Wofa KK has paid his dues to make the media landscape better.

Mr. Albert Dwumfour said the late broadcaster’s contribution and guidance upon his assumption as GJA president was commendable and will heavily be missed.

His one-week commemoration will be marked on March 9, 2024, at the forecourt of Kencity Media Limited.

The GJA  president was accompanied by Linda Asante Adjei, Vice President of GJA, Ms Rebecca Ekpe, Public Relations Officer, of GJA, and Mr. Michael Mawugbe, Secretary to the GJA president.
