Nimdee App: Gov’t committed to promoting education

The Ministry of Education has reiterated the government’s commitment towards formal and informal education in Ghana.

Sheila Naah Boamah, the Technical Advisor at the Ministry of Education, revealed this at the launch of Nimdee, an IT training program.

Slamm Technologies, an IT firm that offers IT Support, Career Services, and Corporate IT Training launched its IT training application, Nimdee app.

Nimdee is a free IT training app. The Nimdee app provides on-demand IT lessons to individuals across the world.

The app offers lessons in a range of topics including: cybersecurity, IT fundamentals, social media, and PC repair.

The lessons on the app are available in 10 different languages (local and foreign) and are segmented by skills level that is basic, intermediate, and advanced.

Speaking at the launch, the Technical Advisor at the Ministry of Education, Sheila Naah Boamah commended for launching an innovative app like the Nimdee App.

She added that the ministry of education is responsible for the promotion of education, being it formal or informal.

According to Sheila Naah Boamah, the Ministry of education will continue to support programmes aimed at promoting education in Ghana.

“We at the Ministry have the responsibility to show support to anyone promoting education, either formal or informal.” I think The App is innovative, and it’s a good idea, considering the fact that the program is available in different languages. “I will urge all of us to be ambassadors and help make the app work,” she said.

Also speaking at the event, the Chief executive officer of Slamm foundation Francisca Boateng mentioned that the App will make digital literacy easily accessible to the young and the aged across the country.

She added that the Nimdee App will help build the capacity of Ghanaians in the education sector with regard to ICT.
