Kidnapped Deacon of Church of Pentecost SA released

The kidnapped Deacon of the Johannesburg branch of the Ghanaian Church of Pentecost has been released and reunited with his family.

He was found and reunited with his family on Tuesday Night.

The Johannesburg branch of the Church of Pentecost was robbed and the Deacon of the church kidnapped during church service on 29th October, 2023.

After the incident, Ghana’s High Commission in South Africa assured that it was working with the Church of Pentecost in cooperation with the South Africa Police Service (SAPS) to ensure the speedy and safe release and return of Kidnapped Deacon to his family.

“The Mission is presently working with the Church in cooperation with the South Africa Police Service (SAPS) to ensure the speedy and safe release and return of the victim to his family. Kindly note that the South African Police is fully focused on the matter and Is working hard to ensure the safe return of our compatriot,” the Mission stated.

The Church of Pentecost also declared a three day fast, starting from October 31 to November 2, 2023 to seek God’s help in finding the Deacon and as well pray for Global Peace.

On Wednesday morning, October 1, 2023, Ghana’s High Commissioner to South Africa, Eswatini (Swaziland), Lesotho, Mauritius and Seychelles, Charles Owiredu in a tweet announced that the Deacon has been found and reunited with his family.
