Koforidua: Two men in possession of 88 parcels of narcotics arrested

Two men are currently in the grips of the Koforidua District Police Command for possessing 88 parcels of suspected narcotic drugs.

The two concealed the suspected drugs in a yellow packs labelled ‘MTN’.

A report from the Police indicated that the wo who were arrested dawn of Friday, February 18, 2022,  were spotted in a Toyota Camry with registration number AC 660-21 at Ada-Koforidua township in the New Juaben South municipality.

On the suspicion that the two men were driving a stolen car, the patrol team stopped the suspects for inspection.

After a search by the Police   uncovered 88 parcels of suspected dried narcotics packaged in a yellow packs and labelled ‘MTN’ were retrieved.

The suspects confirmed being owners of the packages before they were arrested.

The Police says the car belongs to a friend of the two who lives at Obuasi.

According to the Police, the 88 ceased suspected narcotic packages labelled ‘MTN’ were delivered from Dzemene in the Volta Region.

The suspects having taken delivery of the package were to also do onward delivery to a contact in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.

The Police have detained the two and are investigating the case.
