Labone Old Students Association to embark on health walk this Saturday

The Labone Old Students Association (LOSA) is set to embark on the 2023 edition of its annual health walk on Saturday, November 18,2023.

This is prior to the school’s Speech and Prize Giving day which will be held a week after the event.

The primary objective of the health walk, dubbed, “Together, let’s walk towards a healthier future!”, is to encourage a healthy lifestyle among the alumni, emphasizing the importance of regular physical activities.

Aside from promoting healthy lifestyle among the people, the event will provide an excellent platform for alumni to reconnect, reunite, network, and strengthen already existing relationships with fellow LOSA members.

The walk will cover an approximate distance of 8.7 kilometers, beginning from the Labone Senior High School campus through the Cells Bridge Road to the La Community Bank, then to the Osu Castle Traffic Light to Danquah Circle.

From there, the route continues to the Morning Star School, takes a right to the SDA School, and finally, turns left to reach the Labone SHS Campus.

According to organisers of the event, during the walk, the school bus will accompany participants, offering water and aid to those who may experience fatigue.

Additionally, standby ambulance services will be available to provide healthcare throughout the event.

The walk will begin at 7 a.m, following a group aerobics session to ensure that all participants are properly prepared for the walk.

A brass band ensemble will also be present to add a touch of enjoyment and entertainment to the event as participants proceed.

Aside from the health walk, a health talk will be conducted by a doctor who is a member of LOSA, delivering valuable insights and information on various aspects of health and well-being.

There will also be a health screening session to test Blood Pressure (BP), Body Mass Index (BMI), Blood Sugar, and Eye Testing for 200 participants at no cost.

As part of the activities, there will be an inter-year group fitness challenges/competitions including armrest, musical chairs, skipping rope, football totals, Fortuner penalties, flip the bottle, spinning game etc.
