Nat’l Cathedral: Dzifa Gomashie to stage one-woman demo against Mahama if he continues project

Dzifa Gomashie, Member of Parliament for Ketu and Former Deputy Minister for Tourism has threatened to stage a one-woman demonstration against John Dramani Mahama if he continues the National Cathedral project as President.

Opposition Members of Parliament led by North Tongu MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, on 6th March 2024 took a satirical stance by commissioning the uncompleted National Cathedral project as a symbolic gesture aimed at highlighting the government’s perceived failure to finish the project.

Former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta stated in the 2021 budget statement that the cathedral will be dedicated on March 6. However, since then, the cathedral has come under fire, especially from minority MPs who are unhappy with the project’s cost.

In an exclusive interview with host of Atinka FM’s AM Drive Nana Fianko, Dzifa Gomashie said there are cathedrals and churches in Ghana and that the National cathedral should not be a priority.

Revealing her actions should the next NDC administration decide to continue the project, Dzifa Gomashie revealed that she will stage a one-woman demonstration against Mahama if he tries to continue the project.

“I will stage a one-woman demonstration against President John Dramani Mahama if he decides to continue the National Cathedral project,” Dzifa Gomashie told Nana Fianko.
