The Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Agency, YEA, Malik Basintale, has announced that the National Democratic Congress, NDC, will “go back to the drawing board” to develop a second youth manifesto for implementation before the end of President John Mahama’s current term.

Speaking at the NDC Western Regional Youth Conference organized by the Takoradi Technical University TEIN wing, Basintale said the party is preparing to build on what he described as the full delivery of its first youth-focused manifesto within one year of taking office.

“We were firm and we had an aim and I can tell you today that the NDC is virtually the first political party to have fulfilled our entire youth manifesto in one year,” Basintale told the gathering. “Everything we promised in there we have done it.”

He added that the success of the first manifesto has set the stage for the next phase of youth engagement.

“We are going to go back to the drawing board and for the first time we will put together a second manifesto and we shall implement it again before we at the end of his term,” he said, referring to President Mahama.

The conference, held under the theme “Building on the Past: Empowering the Future”, brought together NDC youth leaders and members from across the Western Region.
