Nungua: Paramount Chief apologises to two senior police officers

The Paramount Chief of Nungua King Odaifio Welentsi III and his elders have issued a statement to clear the air regarding a recent news release which circulated on various media platforms about the Nungua stool versus Orca Deco and Cemonit land matters in which two senior police officers namely COP\Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohunu and Chief Superintendent Aseidu were accused of aiding land guards.

Setting the record straight, the Paramount Chief of Nungua, King Odaifio Welentsi III stated that the two senior Police officers were innocent.

He noted that the said allegations were false and untrue.

Oboade Notse, King Prof. Odaifio Welentsi III the paramount chief and final authority of the Nungua stool stated emphatically that he did not sanction the release of such information

He added that the press release supposedly emanating from his quarters did not bear the original letterhead and was not duly signed, thus rendering the whole communique fake and not authentic.

He noted that with the air cleared, he has taken personal interest in the matter as private investigation is ongoing to unravel any mystery behind the release of the fake news.

Oboade Notse King Prof. Odaifio Welentsi III took the opportunity to render his sincere apology to the senior police officers who were cited in the press release, the entire Ghana Police Service, and the general public for any inconveniences caused, and prayed for no further embarrassment.

He further congratulated and acknowledged the good work of the current IGP Dr. George Akuffo Dampare in transforming the police service to greater heights.

He commended the security agencies for their commitment in protecting the public peace in Nungua and its environs.

Oboade Notse King Prof. Odaifio Welentsi III, urged orca Deco limited and Cemonit Ghana limited that until the final determination of the legal battle between them and the Nungua stool, they should restrain themselves from further activities on the land.

The Stool warned all who intend to encroach Nungua Stool lands to take cue that the Stool will henceforth not allow any encroacher to steal their lands.
