One Dead, Eight Injured in Kasoa-Winneba Road Collision

One person has died and eight others sustained injuries following a head-on collision involving a water tanker and a Toyota Voxy at Tipper Junction along the Kasoa–Winneba Road.

The accident occurred on Saturday, August 15, 2026, prompting a swift response from personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) from the Buduburam Fire Station.

Firefighters rescued eight injured victims from the crash and transported them to the Mother and Child Hospital in Kasoa for medical attention.

However, one of the victims later succumbed to injuries sustained in the accident.

The collision caused significant damage to the Toyota Voxy, particularly its engine compartment, while the water tanker also suffered partial damage.

The circumstances leading to the head-on collision remain unclear, with investigations underway to determine the exact cause of the accident.

The incident adds to concerns over road safety along the Kasoa–Winneba corridor, where road crashes continue to pose risks to motorists and passengers.
