Prampram: Basic education sees steadily improvement-Education Directress

The Education Directress for the Ningo-Prampram District in the Greater Accra Region, Beatrice Ollenu, has commended the District Assembly for its enormous contribution in ensuring a sharp rise in the performance and standard of education at the primary level.
She made the commendation, when the Ningo Pramrpam District Assembly, presented over a thousand classroom desks to the directorate to help mitigate the infrastructure deficit facing schools in the District.
The desks presented by the Ningo Prampram District Assembly to the District Education Directorate, consists of 300 mono desks (tables and chairs) for JHS3, Upper primary dual desks 350 for Upper Primary, 300 dual desks for Lower primary and 50 Teachers desks making it 1000 pieces.
According to the Assembly, the gesture to District Education Directorate, is in fulfillment of its commitment to the basic schools in the District.

Making the presentation, the District Chief Executive of the Ningo Prampram District, Jonathan Paa Nii Doku, said the assembly has for the past 3 years invested tremendously in the growth and sustainability of a quality education for the district.
He said this coupled with last weeks commissioning of a six-unit teacher’s bungalow in Mangotsonya, sums up the assembly’s resolution to improve the standard of education in the district.
The District Director of Education, Madam Beatrice Ollenu, therefore commended the assembly for its support to the education sector of the district.

She revealed that the unprecedented support from the district assembly, has resulted in a sharp rise in the performance of pupils and students which has reflected positively in their past exams.
She however entreated the assembly to also take a critical look at improving the infrastructural challenges facing some schools in the District.
Meanwhile, the Ningo Prampram District Assembly is expected to commission an ultra modern library assembly and a classroom block this week.
