The Member of Parliament for Wa West Constituency, Peter Lanchene Toobu, has asked the general public to be security conscious.

This caution comes after Lawyer Richard Badombia was attacked on Saturday and shot dead by armed robbers on the Bole-Bamboi highway.

The deceased, Richard Badombia, was heading for Jirapa with two family members when they were stopped by the men who immediately shot him.

A statement issued by the Police revealed that the victim was driving a Hyundai Accent saloon car when the incident occurred.

“When they got to a section of the road between Banda Nkwanta and Nuoyiri communities, three armed men emerged from the bush and signaled them to stop and while slowing down, one of the robbers shot and killed the driver. We will do whatever it takes to get these miscreants arrested and brought to justice,” the Police said in the statement.

Speaking in an interview with sit-in host Nana Owoahene Acheampong on Atinka FM’s AM Drive, Member of Parliament for Wa West Constituency who is also former executive secretary to the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Peter Lanchene Toobu, said the issue of security is a collective responsibility.

Peter Lanchene Toobu, who revealed that he is related to the deceased lawyer, said it is high time the general public was sensitized on security issues and the way forward.

“Security is a collective responsibility and so we must all make it a duty to help the Police in ensuring that Ghana’s security is heightened. These armed men also monitor the Police and ensure that coast is clear before they act. The community policing behaviour must be intensified,” he told Nana Owoahene Acheampong.

Peter Lanchene Toobu also called on the general public to assist the Police with the necessary information when the need be.
