The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has warned Ghanaians not to invest in YEPBIT Exchange and BONCHAT, saying the two platforms may be fraudulent.
In a statement issued on July 15, 2026, the SEC said both companies are offering investment services, including digital and cryptocurrency investments, without approval to operate in Ghana. The Commission stressed that neither YEPBIT Exchange nor BONCHAT is licensed to provide investment or trading services in the country.
The SEC advised the public to always check whether an investment company is licensed before investing money. It also warned people to be careful of platforms that promise very high or guaranteed profits or ask members to recruit others to earn money.
The Commission encouraged anyone who comes across suspicious investment schemes to report them. It said the warning is part of its efforts to protect investors and reduce online investment fraud in Ghana.
