President John Dramani Mahama has commended the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) for recording its first net profit in almost 10 years.
Speaking at the SIGA Governing Boards & CEOs’ Conference 2026, President Mahama said several state entities recorded significant turnarounds in 2025, with TOR being one of the most notable.
According to him, the refinery moved from a net loss of approximately GH¢745 million to a net profit of GH¢1.09 billion.
The President said the achievement reflects his government’s call for state entities to aim higher, strengthen governance and deliver greater value to the state.
The conference, held under the theme: “Creating public value through leadership, corporate governance and performance,” brought together board members and CEOs of state-owned enterprises.
