Soldiers vacate Dome Faase after two-day siege

Information reaching Atinkaonline.com is that military personnel who stormed Dome Faase, near Obom Domeabra to retaliate on behalf of their two colleagues who were brutalised by the residents have vacated the town.

This comes after a meeting between the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Ga South Municipal Asembly, Mr Joseph Stephen Nyarni and the leadership of the soldiers who stormed the town.

The soldiers, who also went to Dome Faase to search for their guns left on Thursday afternoon after finding the two guns.

The two soldiers who were allegedly assigned by their authorities to protect a parcel of land were brutalised by the residents of Dome Faase after being mistaken for land guards.

After the clash between the soldiers and the residents, about 300 soldiers were deployed to the area to bring sanity to the town, but they ended up arresting the people including some nurses in the town.

Their arrival sent almost all the men away from home, with most of them hiding in nearby bushes.

Meanwhile, residents who went into hiding have started going back home after the departure of the soldiers.
