Taifa robbery: Second suspect arrested after being chased by dog

The second suspect in Wednesday's robbery incident at Taifa  has been arrested by the police .

The suspect whose name was given as Ahmed Awal was apprehended after a wild dog called Rasta, who joined the chase, followed  the suspect into a gutter and trapped him in the process.

The two robbers are Benjamin Dogbey, 22, and Ahmed Awal, 32.

Confirming the arrest to atinkaonline.com, the Kwabenya District Crime Officer, DSP Maxwell K. Sarpong mentioned that the two-armed robbers on a motorbike robbed a mobile money operator in Taifa at gunpoint and took away GH¢12,000 recharge Cards and some other items.

The MoMo operator then chased them with his Pontiac Vibe car. When the robbers realized that the operator was after them, they fired at him, but he (the Pontiac Driver) managed to knock them down. 

The victim, unfortunately, crashed down a high-tension pole knocking another woman in the process. A pistol and an unclosed amount of money were retrieved from Ahmed Awal.

Kwabenya District Crime Officer, DSP Maxwell K. Sarpong assured residents of Kwabenya not to live in fear and that the Police will put all measures in place to get rid of miscreants in the area.
