Takoradi: "Kidnapped girls are alive, we know where they are " – CID boss reveals

Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Department DCOP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah has assured parents of the three girls who were kidnapped in Takoradi last December that the girls are alive.

Between August of 2018 and January 2019, there were a number of kidnappings which has generated an operation #BringBackOurTaadiGirls hashtag on Social media.

Notable among them is the kidnap of three girls; 15-year old Priscilla Mantebea Koranchie, Priscilla Blessing Bentum, 21, and Ruth Love Quayson.

A suspect, Nigerian Sam Udoetuk Wills, was re-arrested after breaking out of police custody in connection with these girls.

The Ghana Police Service in a press briefing Tuesday morning stated that the service knows where the girls are and that it is getting closer to rescuing these girls.

“We know where the girls are.. we want to ask families of these girls to keep on keeping on…”  DCOP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah said.

The Kidnap cases did not end with the girls as a one -year- old baby boy was also kidnapped around the post office Market in Takoradi in March. He was however fortunate as the Western Regional SWAT Team rescued him from the hideout of the kidnapers Effiekuma Zongo a day after the incident.

According to reports, the boy was stolen from his mother by a fair, slim and short lady on Friday, March 22, 2019.
