Tobinco donates medical supplies to Kumasi Central Prisons

The Tobinco Group of Companies has donated drugs to the Kumasi Central Prisons to help in the treatment of inmates.

The drugs worth GHC5000 include; Atenelol 50, Blopen,Lisinopril, Extramol Extra, Hand sanitizers etc.

The donation follows an appeal from the Kumasi Central Prisons for assistance.

The Kumasi Central Prisons has been confronted with the challenge of being unable to cater for inmates when they fall sick.

The Head Pastor of the Church of Pentecost- Anwomaso , Samuel Kweku Koomson, who donated the items on behalf of the Executive Chairman of the Tobinco Group of Companies, Elder Nana Amo Tobbin I, touted the humanitarian and philanthropic activities the group had been involved in over the years.

He mentioned that the Church of Pentecost Anwomaso District supported Kumasi Central Prisons with food stuffs three weeks ago and upon further discussions with the officers, they realized that most of the inmates were sick and due to insufficient drugs , they (inmates) were not receiving proper care and treatment.

That, he said made the Church collaborate with the Chairman of Tobinco Group of Companies to support the Prisons with drugs.

Speaking with the media, Pastor Samuel Kweku Koomson noted that the Church of Pentecost, Amomaso District in collaboration with the Tobinco Group of Companies will continue to support the prisons when the need arises.

He, therefore, called on philanthropists, churches, individuals to support the prisons as they have done in order to receive God’s blessings.

The Chief Superintendent of Kumasi Central Prisons and also the Regional Chaplain for the Prisons, Rev. Canon Emmanuel Paa Kwesi Ansah, who received the drugs, thanked the Chairman of Tobinco Group of Companies, the Anwomaso Church of Pentecost for the kind gesture.

He also called on other corporate entities to support the inmates.
