Tobinco Group holds thanksgiving service

The Tobinco Group of Companies on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 held its Annual Thanksgiving Service at Dor Events Annex-North Kaneshie.

The service brought together staff, management, some dignitaries, friends and families of the Group together to thank God for seeing them through the whole year.

Speaking at the event, the Executive Chairman Of The Tobinco Group of Companies, Elder Nana Amo Tobbin I, urged all staff of the Group to be thankful to God for what he has done for them despite the challenges the covid-19 pandemic.

According to him, although the pandemic forced a lot of companies to lay off workers, the Tobinco Group, by God’s grace, did not lay off workers, rather, it employed more staff even in 2021.

“As a group, we have to be thankful for what God has done for us in 2021 in spite of the economic difficulties including the Covid-19 pandemic. It is important to note that as Covid-19 and the economic challenges forced other companies to lay off workers, the Tobinco Group, By God’s grace, did not lay off workers. On a contrary, we employed more staff in 2021. This is the Lord’s doing and we must be grateful for it,” he said.

Elder Nana Amo Tobbin I said despite breaking away from its major partner, Bliss GVS after several years of partnership, the Group was still strong, adding that the company’s products were still doing well on the market.

“One significant thing that happened this year is our break away from our major partner, Bliss GVS after several years of partnership. And by the grace of God, this breakaway has not affected the Tobinco Group in any way. We are still strong and our products are doing very well on the market,” he noted.

Meanwhile, Elder Nana Amo Tobbin I also noted that the Group’s International Trade tripled in terms of business in neighboring countries.

“Our drivers who travel to neighboring countries to deliver our products were also protected. No casualty was recorded by God’s grace. Everybody is safe and sound. God has been good to us,” he said.

For his part, The Member of Parliament for Tarkwa Nsuaem Constituency, Mr George Mireku Duker commended the Tobinco Boss for his support towards the people of Tarkwa and the country as a whole.

He noted aside contributing to his political life, the Tobinco Boss has employed a lot of people and as well supported many, especially widows, the needy and or poor financially and in other aspects, saying people like the Tobinco Boss are needed in the society and as well must be applauded.

Preaching the sermon, the Vice Chancellor for Pentecost university, Reverend Professor Kwabena Agyapong-Kodua also urged all to give thanks to God for everything he has done, including the life he has given to them.

He noted that about six million people have lost their lives to Covid and therefore those who are still alive must thank God.

“We need to give thanks to him, there have been many challenges but our God has been faithful to us,” he said.

At the Event, Best working staff of the various subsidiaries were given awards; they all received a citation and an undisclosed amount of money.

Aside that, three staff whose names were picked by some of the dignitaries that graced the occasion won surprise prizes.

One of the three lucky winners took home an amount of GHC10,000, the next person had GHC5,000 while the third person had GHC2,000.

The staff of Tobinco Group also honoured the Tobinco Boss with a citation and a plaque to appreciate him for being a father to all.
