We've not sacked over 100 recruits-Fire Service

The Management of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has denied reports circulating around that the service has sacked over one thousand recruits without allowances.

According to the service, the 2018/2019 Recruits were first of all divided into four batches, explaining that the recruits in question were the fourth batch of the ongoing 2018/2019 recruitment exercise.

In a statement signed by the Head of Public Relations, DOII Ellis Robinson Okoe, the service explained that they had also undergone a week orientation exercise at the Fire Academy and Training School (FATS), after which they proceeded to various fire stations for attachment prior to their final training.

Meanwhile, the service stated that, “The Recruits in question have not been sacked but were rather asked to go home after the end of their attachment period and would be recalled for training after the preceding batches have completed their training.”
