Wilkinson confirmed as Ga West MCE with 96% votes

The President’s nominee for Ga West Municipal Assembly, Mr Clement Nii Lamptey Wilkinson has been confirmed by Assembly Members of Ga West with 96 percent votes.

He was confirmed after an election was conducted by the Electoral Commission’s Greater Accra Regional Director, Mr Kwame Amoah on Tuesday, October 5, 2021.

At the end of the election, Mr Clement Wilkinson secured 24 votes out of 25 votes casted by the Assembly Members.

He remains the MCE of Ga West Municipal Assembly.

Mr Kwame Amoah announced that,”NO” had only one vote, and YES had 24 votes. So per the results, the nominee has been confirmed at the MCE for the assembly.”

Mr Clement Wilkinson’s confirmation by the Assembly Members indicates how hardworking the MCE has been since his appointment in the first term of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo and the NPP-Government.

He has been spotted working hand- in -hand with the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Mr Henry Quartey; notable amongst these collaborations is the moving of the onion sellers from Agbogbloshie to Adjen Kotoku and clearing hawkers off the frontage of Amasaman to ease traffic.

Wilkinson expressed gratitude to the President for believing in him and nominating him for the second time.

He also thanked all Assembly Members for confirming him to work with them again for the betterment of the Municipality.

Mr Clement Wilkinson called on the Assembly Members to work together in unity in order to grow the Ga West Municipality.

For his part, the Greater Accra Regional Minister also said all MMDCEs who fail to work to expectations will be removed, cautioning all to work hard.

The Member of Parliament for Amasaman Constituency, Mr Akwasi Afrifa Mensah also urged party folks to sacrifice a while to work together for the betterment of the Assembly.
