Kwahu South Health Director appeals for theatre equipment for Obo Health Centre

The Acting Municipal Health Director for Kwahu South, Ama Asarewaa Boateng, has appealed to the government, corporate organisations, non-governmental organisations and benevolent individuals to provide theatre equipment for the Obo Health Centre.

She said the facility has met most of the requirements for upgrading it to a polyclinic but lacks the necessary theatre equipment to provide more advanced medical services.

According to her, the absence of the equipment continues to affect healthcare delivery in Obo and surrounding communities.

She made the appeal during a ceremony at which Obo Vision donated laboratory equipment worth GH¢523,000 to the health centre.

Ama Asarewaa Boateng said the donation was an important step towards improving healthcare delivery but stressed that theatre equipment was still urgently needed.

The Akyempemhene of Obo and representative of Obo Vision, Barima Adofo Kissi, said the donation was made after the organisation identified the laboratory needs of the health facility.

He urged the management of the health centre to take good care of the equipment to ensure that it serves the community for many years.

He also reaffirmed Obo Vision’s commitment to supporting the development of healthcare infrastructure in the community.
