Fenaam Industries has partnered with the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) as part of an initiative aimed at supporting Ghana’s social security system through the sale of its Peeva bottled water.
The partnership is expected to create an avenue for consumers to contribute indirectly to the scheme through their purchases.
Speaking in an interview with the media, Board Member of Fenaam Industries, Adjei Mensah, disclosed that the company has committed to contributing 1.2 pesewas from the sale of every bottle of Peeva water towards the initiative.
Mr. Mensah said the initiative forms part of Fenaam Industries’ broader commitment to corporate social responsibility and supporting programmes that have a positive impact on the lives of Ghanaians.
According to him, the decision to partner with SSNIT was informed by the importance of social security to the future wellbeing of workers and other contributors.
He noted that the sustainability of the social security system requires collective support from government, businesses, workers and the general public.
He explained that under the arrangement, a portion of the proceeds from every bottle of Peeva water sold will be channelled towards the agreed SSNIT initiative.
Although the contribution from each bottle is relatively small, he believes the cumulative impact could be significant when thousands of bottles are sold.
Adjei Mensah said the initiative also provides consumers with an opportunity to support social security without necessarily making a separate payment.
By choosing Peeva water, consumers will be participating indirectly in an initiative intended to strengthen social protection.
He encouraged consumers to patronise Peeva and support the partnership, stressing that businesses have a responsibility to go beyond making profits and contribute to national development.
He further described the collaboration with SSNIT as an example of how private-sector institutions can work with public institutions to advance programmes that serve the broader interests of society.
Mr.Mensah added that, Fenaam Industries is open to exploring more partnerships and initiatives that can contribute to Ghana’s socioeconomic development, adding that the company will continue to identify ways of using its business operations to create a positive social impact.
Adjei Mensah expressed optimism that the partnership will generate the desired results and encourage other businesses to consider similar initiatives.
He reiterated Fenaam Industries’ commitment to supporting SSNIT and contributing to efforts aimed at improving social security and the welfare of Ghanaians.
