The Tema Regional Police Command has arrested two men for allegedly impersonating police officers and stealing a motorbike.
The suspects, identified as 35-year-old Richard Demordzi Tamakloe and 32-year-old Godwin Agbolosu, were arrested at Ashaiman on September 5, 2026, after the complainant allegedly spotted them riding his stolen motorbike.
Police said the complainant reported that about two weeks earlier, the suspects had allegedly posed as police officers, arrested him and taken away his motorbike under the pretext of sending it to a police station.
Police recovered a police body armour, taser, handcuffs, police baton, two military caps and two Royal motorbikes from the suspects.
The suspects were charged with falsely pretending to be public officers, stealing and unlawful possession of police accoutrements.
They were arraigned before the Ashaiman District Court on September 8 and remanded into police custody to reappear on September 16.
The Police have urged the public to remain vigilant and report persons who unlawfully identify themselves as police officers or use police accoutrements without authority.
