Scores of residents and supporters from across Ghana converged at Agona Nkwanta in the Ahanta West Municipality on Saturday, September 12, for a health and fitness walk organised by Journalist Samuel Kojo Brace, popularly known as Ahanta Pele.
Dubbed “Walk with Ahanta Pele,” the event promoted healthy living, community engagement and solidarity with the journalist.
Participants assembled at Aboadi and walked through the principal streets of Agona Nkwanta, passing through Agona Fie before ending at the forecourt of Baidoo Bonsoe Senior High Technical School where it concluded with an aerobics session and other activities.
Residents of Ahanta West were joined by participants from Accra and other parts of the country. The large turnout created a lively atmosphere as participants walked, exercised and interacted along the route.
The event attracted several members of the NPP Ahanta West Constituency Executives, including the First and Second Vice Chairmen, Organizer and Deputy Organizer, Treasurer, Financial Secretary, Women’s Organizer and Deputy Women’s Organizer, as well as the Nasara Coordinator and Deputy Coordinator.
Also in attendance were Sekondi Constituency Chairman Percy Morgue Ansah, his Youth Organizer, Ben Hector Brooklyn, and Goodfellow Odei, a member of the NPP National Communications Team.
Media personalities also travelled to Ahanta West to support their colleague. They included award-winning Ekosii Sen host, Lawyer Osei Bonsu, popularly known as O.B., and Dominic Kissi, both of the Multimedia Group.
Beyond its focus on fitness, the walk provided an opportunity for residents and visitors to connect, interact and celebrate their shared ties to the Ahanta community.
The event has also renewed speculation about Samuel Kojo Brace’s political ambitions, particularly reports linking him to a possible contest for the Ahanta West parliamentary seat.
However, Ahanta Pele has not publicly confirmed any decision to enter active politics.
The successful health walk has nevertheless heightened public interest in his future and added to discussions about the evolving political landscape of Ahanta West.
