Atinka Media Village opens book of condolence for departed News Editor  

Atinka Media Village has opened a book of condolence at the premises of the company at Avenor Junction in honour of departed Head of News and Current Affairs, Mr. Francis Sasu.

Mr. Francis Sasu, until his demise, served as the Head of News and Current Affairs at Atinka Media Village. He also served as a faculty member on Atinka FM’s Kronkron big band reality show board.

Mr. Francis Sasu, a veteran journalist, has worked with the National Lotteries Authority (NLA), Ghana Broadcasting Corporations (GBC), Accra based ZTV before spending his last years on earth with Atinka Media Village.

ATINKA MEDIA VILLAGE LOSES HEAD OF NEWS, MR. FRANCIS SASU

The management and Staff of Atinka Media Village regret to announce to the general public and the media fraternity about the sudden demise of its Head of News and Current Affairs, Mr. Francis Sasu affectionately called F.S.

The late, Francis Sasu, whose Journalism career spanned almost four decades, died at his residence at Asofa-Ofankor on Wednesday afternoon few hours after visiting the hospital for medical checkup.

A family delegation led by the late Francis Sasu’s junior brother, Edmund Sasu on Wednesday 21st November 2018 officially informed management and staff of Atinka Media Village about the demise of their beloved son. His body has been deposited at the Ridge Hospital Morgue for autopsy.

The late Francis Sasu, F.S as he is affectionately called, had an enviable career over forty years where his contribution in standardizing and shaping journalism and media in the country stood tall till his demise.

Mr. Francis Sasu worked with the National Lotteries from 1973-1981 and later joined the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) as a reporter in 1981. He retired from the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) in 2011 after 30 years of dedicated service. He later had a stint with ZTV from 2014 to 2016 as Head of News and then after joined Atinka Media Village, (AMV) operators of Atinka TV, Atinka FM, Atinkaonline.com, Agyenkwa FM in Kumasi and Ahoto FM in Takoradi, in 2016 as the Head of News and Current Affairs.  

Management and staff of AMV extend their sincere condolences to the family as well as the media fraternity for the loss.

In honouring his immense contribution to the growth of AMV, (TV and Radio) the media village has suspended normal programming for a week.

A book of condolence will be made available at the forecourt of Atinka Media Village, Avenor junction and at the Ghana International Press Centre, Ridge for the media and well-wishers to pay their respects from Thursday, 22nd November 2018 from 8am – 5pm.

The late Francis Sasu was 67.
