An Economic Analyst, Seth Ofori Twumasi, says the Vice President and Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has exposed the NPP-Government and its policies.

Outlining his vision for the country on Thursday, Dr Bawumia noted that he would abolish taxes on electronic financial transactions, e-levy, if given the nod as President of Ghana on December 7.

The flagbearer also announced that the Bawumia administration will also abolish the emission tax, tax on betting as well as the proposed 15% VAT on electricity tariffs, if it is in existence by January 2025.

“My administration will introduce a very simple, citizen and business-friendly flat tax regime. A flat tax of a percentage of income for individuals and SMEs, which constitute 98% of all businesses in Ghana, with appropriate exemption thresholds set to protect the poor,” Dr Bawumia said.

Reacting to these on Atinka TV’s morning show, Ghana Nie with Ama Gyenfa, Seth Ofori Twumasi said Dr Bawumia should have declared his stance on the policies he did not support.

He questioned if Dr Bawumia would have said all these things if he was not Flagbearer of the party.

Unlike Kennedy Agyapong, Seth Ofori Twumasi said he made his stance known on policies he did not support.

“The reason why at some point Ghanaians felt Kennedy Agyapong would have been the best candidate for the NPP was that from day one, he made us know his stance on some of the policies by his government he did not support. “

Meanwhile, he said Dr Bawumia never mentioned these things or spoke like that when he wanted to become a Presidential Candidate.

By the statements he made, he said Dr Bawumia has exposed the NPP, saying that per the statement he made, Dr Bawumia will rule the country single handedly and not as a team.
