Board of Directors of PRINPAG sworn-in

Four members of the Board of Directors of the Private Newspaper Publishers Association of Ghana (PRIMPAG) have been sworn-in  with a call on them to put the Association in a better position to contribute to national development.
The Four persons  were sworn in by the Chairman of the National Media Commission, Mr Yaw Boadu Ayeboafo who urged the directors to live up to their responsibilities and ensure honesty and professionalism in the discharge of  their duties.
“In contemporary times, people believe that when things go wrong in an organisation the leaders are part of the cause and if you are appointed as a leader and the job collapse through you, it could be that you own property will be sold to pay for whatever debt. So we are a leader, you have ensure that  you work diligently and also think about the job and not your personal interest only,” he said.
He also debunked fake publications on social media and some mainstream media that the NMC said they will not allow fetish priests and ‘mallams’ to advertise themselves on TV and radio anymore.
“The NMC has not sat anywhere to say that. We do not have that power to stop them. The law does not allow the President to order NMC to do that. But some of the main media who saw it on social media picked it up without verifying the authenticity of the story. So they should ensure that they always advise people on honesty. When we speak the truth it will allow people to respect us, They should ensure that the news paper business will grow,” he added.

Speaking on behalf of the team, Mr Ebow Quansah assured the NMC that they will continue from where their predecessors left and ensure that they put PRINPAG at a stage where it deserves to be.
“PRINPAG has paid its dues to Ghana and it is our duty to continue with the success made by our forefathers. As a board we have a duty to ensure that not only PRINPAG survives but also, take responsibility for whatever iniquity it is. We will do so with all our heart.
We pledge that we shall continue from where our fore fathers left. We will take PRINPAG to stage where it deserves to be,” he said.
For his part, the President of PRINPAG,Mr. Andrew Edwin Arthur urged the Board to work fast so that the association will also catch up with where it has to be.
