Calm restored at KNUST SHS after death of student

The Ashanti Regional Police Command has indicated that calm has been restored at the KNUST Senior High School campus after students of the school accused school authorities of being responsible for the death of one student.
The Business student who died few days ago complained of stomach ache but the authorities did not give him the needed attention out of fear that he could possibly have contracted the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), leaving him in the care of his colleagues.
News of his death sent the students on rampage in the school; pelting stones and breaking the windscreen of a saloon car, alleged to be that of the headmistress of the school.
Meanwhile, the head mistress of the school has been interdicted over the issue.
The Deputy Ashanti Regional Police Commander,DCOP David Agyemang Agyem in an interview with the media hinted that the police have calmed down the situation at the school to allow classes to progress.
He therefore assured parents to remain calm since they will restore sanity always as their mandate at the school.
