COVID-19: Citizen Check supports hundreds of youth with food items to mark Eid Celebrations

Citizen Check a youth advocacy group in the Tema Region, has distributed some food items to thousands of youths across the capital, in support of the Eid-Ul-Fitr Celebration.
The distribution of the food items to both Muslim and non muslim youth, according to the President of the Tema base youth advocacy group, was aimed at lessening the impact of the COVID-19 on the lives and businesses of the youths.
The various coordinators of the group in areas such as Ashaiman, Tema, Nima, Accra Newton, amonhst other areas, took the items which include rice, cooking oil, canned fish and meat, drinks on behalf of their members.
Vice President of the group, Lord Rampa, commended government for some interventions put in place to cushion private businesses that have been worse hit by the pandemic.
He however, emphasized on the need for government to do more in ensuring the public adhere to the various preventive measures.
Some of the coordinators who spoke to Atinkanews commended the leadership of the Citizen Check gorup, for such a timely intervention.
According to them, the gesture will go a long way to reduce the hardship brought upon them by the pandemic.
