COVID-19: Mahama cuts short visit to registration centres because…

Flagbearer of Opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr John Dramani Mahama has stated that due to low adherence to COVID-19 safety protocols, he had to cut short his unannounced visits to some voter registration centres in Accra and Tema this afternoon.
In a Facebook post, the Former President who had taken it upon himself to visit some of the registration centres noted that there was low awareness of the #COVID19 protocols including physical distancing and the wearing of masks at the centres when he got there.
He wrote,”I have cut short my unannounced visit to some voter registration centres in Accra and Tema this afternoon. This is because of the very low awareness of the #COVID19 protocols including physical distancing and the wearing of masks.”
Meanwhile, he suggested that public education is intensified to stop the spread of the coronavirus disease.
“We have to step up public education on COVID-19 so that people can appreciate the risk reduction protocols,” he added.
