A four-bedroom self-contained house at Market Road in Ho, opposite De-Moofy Electrical Shop, was gutted by fire in the early hours of Monday, August 10, 2026.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), Ho Municipal Command, received a distress call at about 5:34 a.m. and quickly dispatched a firefighting crew to the scene.

The crew, led by STNO I Michael Segbedzi, arrived to find the house engulfed in flames.
Firefighters immediately began an operation to contain the blaze and successfully extinguished it before it could spread to the nearby De-Moofy Electrical Shop and other adjoining properties.

Although the fire caused damage to the affected house, the GNFS confirmed that no casualties were recorded.
Preliminary investigations have pointed to an electrical fault as the suspected cause of the fire.

The GNFS has urged the public to take electrical safety precautions seriously and ensure that electrical installations and appliances are regularly checked to help prevent domestic fires.
