Suame Magazine in the Ashanti Region was hit by fire outbreak on Monday night.
The fire outbreak, which occurred specifically at the Blacksmith area, destroyed properties worth thousands of cedis.
Speaking with Abena Dufie Asare Adjepong on Atinka TV’s morning show, Ghana Nie, the Breman Divisional Fire Commander, DOIII Selasie Avevor said the command was informed about the fire around 11 p.m. Monday night and rushed to the scene to put the fire under control.
However, he said the intensity of the fire made them call their other counterparts in Kumasi for help, after which they were able to bring the fire under control by 1:30 a.m.
Although no death was recorded, DOIII Selasie Avevor said about five out of 12 vehicles were also affected by the fire.
“Because it is a blacksmith, they use inflammable products and there are a lot of human activities going on at that place. For now, I cannot rush to put out any information which may be false,” he said.
Meanwhile, DOIII Selasie Avevor said they were investigating the cause of the fire outbreak.
