Former Upper West Akim Member of Parliament and former Deputy Minister for Transport, Hon. Frederick Adom, has defended his record in office, insisting that he managed public resources responsibly and delivered significant development projects during his four-year tenure.
Speaking on Atinka TV’s Ghana Nie morning show, Hon. Adom said he did not use his share of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF) for personal benefit.
“I have been living in my mother’s house from my days as MP until now, and I didn’t use my Common Fund for myself,” he stated.
The former lawmaker also claimed that his achievements in office surpassed what his successor, Hon. Emmanuel Drah, could accomplish over a much longer period.
“In my four years as MP, I have done more projects than Hon. Emmanuel Drah can take 10 years to implement,” he asserted.
Hon. Adom further criticised the current MP, alleging that he lacks adequate knowledge of the constituency and accusing him of prioritising personal interests over development.
“Hon. Drah does not even know the size of the constituency, and his first project as MP was building a house for himself,” he alleged.
The former MP made the remarks while discussing development and leadership in the Upper West Akim Constituency, highlighting what he described as his commitment to serving the people and ensuring that public resources were used for community development.
Hon. Adom represented the Upper West Akim Constituency in the Eighth Parliament on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and also served as Deputy Minister for Transport.
