Ghana Water Company grants amnesty to customers in arrears

In a bid to collect all arrears owed the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL), the Management of the Company has stated that it will in the month of August 2022 grant amnesty to all defaulting customers.

According to the GWCL, customers with two or more months arrears will be amnestied to enable them settle all outstanding arrears before the end of August 2022, or risk having their names published in the National Dailies.

It said all customers with issues on their bills should therefore contact the nearest district office for rectification.

It warned Citizens who have illegally connected water to their properties to report themselves to any regional or district offices of the GWCL, for their services to be regularized.

The GWCL also encouraged all customers to take advantage of this period to right the wrongs or face the rigours of the law.

“All GWCL collection/pay points are opened during normal working hours and customers can also pay their bills via mobile money channels with all the telecommunications networks,” GWCL stated.

It added that the toll-free line is 0800 40 000 for Vodafone cell and landlines only and 0302 218240 for all other networks, adding that the cooperation of the public is greatly appreciated.

GJA Prez appeals to Wisconsin University to grant scholarships to GJA members

The Newly elected President of the Ghana Journalist Association (GJA), Albert Kwabena Dwumfour, has appealed to the Chancellor of Wisconsin University College to give full scholarships to at least 20 of the Association’s members annually.

That he said will enable members to upgrade themselves to develop their mental capabilities.
The GJA President made the call on Wednesday at a meeting with the Chancellor of Wisconsin University.

Wisconsin International University College, Ghana, is one of the earliest established private universities in Ghana. It was established in January 2000 and is accredited by the National Accreditation Board as a university college and affiliated to the University of Ghana, the University of Cape Coast, the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, and the University for Development Studies.

Twenty-two (22) years in existence, Wisconsin University College has been able to establish two campuses, here in Accra and Kumasi with a population of over 6,000 students. The institution also offers Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Certificate (Short Courses) programs.
