Half Assini: Death of Police Commander unfortunate – MCE

Municipal Chief Executive for Jomoro,  Ernest Kwofie, has described the death of the Jomoro Police Commander as unfortunate.

The Western Regional Police Command reported the demise of Half Assini District Commander, Superintendent Mr Cyprian Zenge 30th January, 2021.

The commander was found dead with gunshot wounds at his residence.

A statement by the Police said, although preliminary investigation points to suicide, the investigation is opened to unravel the true circumstances leading to the death of the Officer.

The public has been urged to be sensitive and circumspect in their reportage or commentary on the matter as investigation is ongoing.

Jomoro MCE, Ernest Kwofie, who spoke with host of Atinka FM’s AM Drive, Kaakyire Ofori Ayim said the commander has created a vacuum in Jomoro and that he is optimistic the Police ill unravel the true circumstances leading to the death of the deceased.

“ I had a good relationship with the deceased. We were in constant communication geared towards protecting the lives and properties of the people in Jomoro. I was called and then informed of what had happened. Zenge is an open person and we are all shocked. We are, however, optimistic that the police investigation will unravel the true circumstances leading to the death of the Superintendent Mr Cyprian Zenge”, he added.
