A National Organiser hopeful in the just ended New Patriotic Party’s election (NPP), Seth Adu-Adjei, has stated that he did not win the election because his resources for the campaign were not enough.

The NPP held its National Delegates Conference on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Mr Seth Adu-Adjei entered the National Organiser race with five others, Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover, Henry Nana Boakye (Nana B), Bright Essilfie Kumi, Eric Amoako Twum and Nana Owusu Fordjour.

At the end of the election, the National Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye popularly known as Nana B won the National Organiser position.

Speaking on Atinka TV’s morning show, Ghana Nie with Abena Dufie Asare Agyepong, Mr Seth Adu-Adjei said although people loved his campaign message, they failed to vote for him because his resources were not enough.

He admitted that due to limited resources, he could not go to all the regions to campaign, adding that those who promised to support him failed him.

Meanwhile, he bemoaned ‘monecracy’ in politics, saying it is an issue that must be addressed moving forward.

According to him, if the above issue is not addressed, persons who have enough money but do not have the party at heart or the competencies will be voted for over persons who are competent for the job.

“They liked my campaign message but you know that winning election is dependent on four thematic areas which include resources, and I feel my resources were small and that is why I could not campaign extensively. It is not that the delegates did not like me, maybe my resources did not help,” he said.

He continued, “The ‘Monecracy’ issue must be addressed, not only in the NPP but in all parties. You can campaign well and the people will accept you but by the time you get to the grounds, then it becomes something else, so we have to eliminate that thing, and we will engage the General Secretary on this to advise ourselves because if it is not addressed, it will create problems in the future”
