The founder of HeavenWay Champion Ministry, Evangelist Patricia Asiedua has criticized questions about the work of pastors, describing them as unreasonable, while defending the idea that music is a legitimate profession.

Speaking on Atinka TV’s Entertainment Lounge hosted by Roman Fada, Agradaa said it “does not make sense” for people to question what pastors do as work.

She explained that pastoral work is full-time and demanding, involving constant prayer, counselling, and spiritual duties that may not always be visible to the public.

“When people ask what work pastors do, it sounds stupid to me,” she said.

Agradaa extended her argument to the music industry, backing the position of Sarkodie that music is a business and should be treated as a profession.

She noted that musicians earn income through performances and endorsements, just like other professionals are paid for their services. According to her, even gospel musicians charge fees before performing at events.

“Music is a job,” she stressed, adding that it should not be dismissed or questioned as a career choice.

Agradaa further argued that people who criticise musicians for charging fees lack proper understanding of how different professions work, referencing the need for knowledge and awareness in society.

Her comments come amid ongoing debates about the commercialization of music and the value placed on creative work in Ghana.
